Hi! I'm Emma, a seasoned, SHRM-SCP certified, heart-forward, and equity-driven people and operations leader.
 
I provide fractional support and consulting to nonprofits and small businesses that are building toward a better world and care deeply about the humans they serve and employ.

Project leadership

I'll manage your pressing HR projects in full, bringing you in only when needed. > Develop recruiting and onboarding practices, infusing bias prevention and accessibility improvements > Hire new team members fast! Includes needs assessment for the role, training for hiring managers and interviewees to ensure a consistent and positive employer brand experience > Manage HR aspects and internal communication for layoffs and reductions in force > Develop robust compensation philosophy, strategy, conducted salary audit, and offer recommendations > Facilitate implementation, internal communication and training during tool transitions, such as from Microsoft to Google Suites, or Slack > Research, recommend, and implement a new software, such as compliance training or HRIS > Create a performance management and professional development system collaboratively with your team > Facilitate new people practices that improve efficiency and morale, like meeting best practices, ERGs, and other cultural activities

Ongoing support

Have some recurring tasks but don't need a dedicated employee, or they're on leave? Or you're growing fast and need help now! > Oversee all human resource compliance needs, benefits and leave administration, and immigration-related legal requirements, always with full compliance and positive vendor/broker relationships > Serve as the primary point of contact for all team needs, such as interpersonal issues, performance issues, benefits questions, and feedback > Develop and implement internal policies that uplifted your people and business priorities > Plan and facilitate team meetings and retreats, including in-person retreat logistics > Analyze people metrics, share with your leadership team and staff, implement improvements based on feedback > Offer leadership development; facilitate manager mutual-support spaces, and provide coaching to managers > Maintain goal-setting and OKR tracking, including training staff > Process payroll, support development of annual budget

Sometimes you need a collaborator on your people strategy. Maybe you can see that your operations, culture, or people programs could be better, but can't figure out why. Or maybe you just don't have the time to make it happen. We can conduct a diagnostic assessment, and help you develop a people strategy that drives results while championing equity and inclusion.
